September 22, 2010

It was a warm morning in the 60's. We had a stiff wind with a lot of large flocks flying. There were four of us hunting and we limited out before 8am this morning. We killed another banded bird which makes 2 this season. With early season coming to a close this Saturday we are at a total of 186 birds that have made their Final Flight.

Monday morning was a filmed hunt with the Back Country Bad Boys from PA. We are hoping our hunt will be featured on one of their spots on the Sportsman Channel. Once we hear back from them we will keep you posted on when it should run. The hunt itself was ok. We had a lot of birds come in but in large flocks. We ended the day with about 9 birds and 1 Banded bird.... Our first banded bird of the season. Be sure to check the Back Country Bad Boys out at http://www.backcountrybadboys.com/

September 14, 2010

This morning we headed up to a green field where we have been watching the birds feed in the last few days. Our first flock came in about 6:30 this morning. They were all smaller flocks that we worked really well and they all came right into our decoys. The best part of the morning is that we LIMITED OUT with 32 birds!!

We ended the second week of Goose season with a big bang! A Sunday morning hunt ended within 30 minutes. It was a great hunt that we should have filmed. We know not all hunts end this way but we are very happy when they do….. 30 geese in 30 minutes is unbelievable. Great shooting boys!

September 11, 2010

Saturday morning we headed out to the fields. Freshly cut corn is always were we seem to set up. Migratory birds are just starting to fly and the weather seems to be getting a bit colder! Our first flock came into our decoys at about 6:50. We ended the morning with 18 geese.... Great hunt boys!

On Saturday Morning we headed up towards Perch Lake for a hunt. We set up in somewhat of a green field. With Hurraine Earl's wind and rains headed our way we were not sure what to expect. About 6:50 we saw our 1st flock of birds.... they were headed our way and landed in the fresh cut field right next to us. All morning we saw a lot of activity but we only got a few birds to come into the decoys. We ended the day with only 2 birds but again had a great time.

With Monday off for Labor Day we decided to take Friday off to make a 4 day weekend. We went out Friday morning for a nice hunt. We set up in a freshly cut corn field waiting for the birds to pour in. About 6:45 we saw the 1st crow flying about less than 10 minutes after that we had our 1st flock of birds come in. We ended the morning with 24 birds. Great Hunt Everyone!

On September 1 we headed out for the first hunt this goose season.  We had a great time setting up and joking about the season to come but we didn't have much luck with the birds. Trip 1 for Team Fowl Mouth….. 0 birds!
